The tea ceremony is one of Japan's traditional cultures. To enjoy the tea, there are various manners and etiquettes.

Making the tea is called otemae.

These are utensils for otemae.

This contains powdered green tea.

Put the tea in a tea bowl.

Pour hot water.

This is a bamboo whisk called chasen.

Stir and whisk the tea with the chasen.

This is how to drink the tea. Bring the tea bowl just in front of you.

Before drinking, say "Otemae choodai itashimasu," bowing. It means "Thank you for the tea."

Put the tea bowl on your left hand and turn it twice clockwise with your right hand.

Slowly drink everything.

Wipe the edge of the bowl where your lips touched with your fingertips.

Return the tea bowl with your right hand and bow.
