Some senior high school students have part-time jobs. Let's look at three senior high students who work at a gas station, a cake shop and a ski resort. - Gas station
This is a gas station, where people fill their cars and motorcycles with gas and wash them. - Masashi Watanabe
This is Masashi Watanabe. He works part-time at the gas station. He is 18 years old and a third-year senior high student. - Directing cars
Masashi works at the gas station four or five days a week. - Wiping windows
In Japan, gas station staff usually pump gas. While filling the tank, they wipe the windows of the car and dispose of any trash inside. - Washing tires
He is washing the tires. Sometimes customers ask him to wash their car. Masashi likes motorcycles and cars, and he wanted to get a job where he could always look at cars. So he chose this part-time job. - Pumping gas
His hourly pay is 1,100 yen. He uses it for clothes and his motorcycle. A part-time job at a gas station is popular among boys because the hourly pay is high. - Checking a motorcycle

The cakes look so delicious. The cake with a strawberry on top is called shortcake. It is very popular in this shop. - Taking an order
A customer looks into the showcase and orders. The customer is telling Maiko which cakes and how many she wants. Maiko is taking a note. - Boxing cakes
Maiko is carefully putting the cakes the customer has ordered into the box. She is putting in partitions to protect the cakes from losing their shape. Sometimes she puts in dry ice or refrigerant to prevent the cakes from getting stale. - Handing over cakes
She hands over the cakes in a paper bag, saying, Thank you for waiting. Then she sees off the customer, bowing and saying, Thank you. - Serving cakes
You can eat cakes inside the shop. Maiko also serves cakes and drinks to customers. - Wrapping
Maiko is putting sweets into bags and decorating them with ribbons. She plays wind-instrument music and bought a flute. She is working part-time to pay back her mother little by little. - Ski resort 1
This is a ski resort. In the northern and mountainous regions of Japan, they have a lot of snow in winter, so people can ski. Skiing is very popular as a winter sport. - Ski resort 2
People go up the mountain by ski lift and ski down from there. - Hirotaka Yoshida
Hirotaka Yoshida works part-time at a ski resort. He is 18 years old and a third-year student. He leads skiers safely to the ski lift. His house is close to the ski resort, so he took this job. - Directing skiers
